Partnerships and programs for collaboration
The University ESL Program is happy to talk with you about establishing special training programs to meet your needs. Contact Joseph Nosek, ESL Program Director at joseph.nosek@wisc.edu to discuss it. Some of the partnerships we have established are illustrated below.
- Bolivia – English language training for scholars in Bolivia, ESL training at UW. Agriculture and Life Sciences and World Bank.
- China – Language training for Chinese athletes at UW. Beijing Sport University and UW Department of Kinesiology. Judges and municipal workers and urban planners, with Law School East Asian Legal Studies Center.
- Italy – Culture and language summer program for teachers of English at UW and teacher training workshops.
- Kazakhstan – Consultation on establishment of English writing and support program. International Programs of UW. Assisted in observing and hiring instructors.
- Korea – Teacher training on campus (home stays and school visits). In Korea, Gyeonggi-do Ministry of Education; workshops and presentations , collaboration in development of training center curriculum, instructor observations and feedback, and library books.
- Japan – 12 years Teacher training. On campus. Home stays, school visits, cultural visits, and language work, Ministry of Education.
- Thailand – English for Lawyers, University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce
- Turkey – Antalya International University (now called Bilim University). Establishment of English language preparatory school. Curriculum, teacher training, test development, workshops in Turkey.

Two-week intensive training on the UW campus teachers of Amharic, Arabic, Bambara, Chichewa, Kinyarwanda, Lingala, Luganda, Swahili, Twi, Yoruda, Wolof, and many others!
