My name is Shauna Crowther, and I have worked in ESL since 2000. I currently work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, from which I received a Master’s in Applied Linguistics and a certificate in TESOL. I have mainly worked with adult language learners, from beginners who are illiterate in their native language to PhD students working on their dissertations, but I have also been a lead teacher and a curriculum coordinator. As a lead teacher, I hired and trained new teachers, observed and reviewed continuing teachers, and created and managed appropriate materials, from action plans to continuing education, to further the goals of all. As a curriculum coordinator, I created an evidence based curriculum in accordance with CEA accreditation standards, including the selection/creation and the implementation and review of all supporting materials, from SLOs to syllabi to exams.
