I began teaching ESL while living for 10 years in the UK. I’ve taught off and on for 17 years since then, in intensive English programs and for Madison College, Edgewood College, and the UW. I also spent four years as an IELTS Examiner. I started my first career in book publishing as a children’s book editor at DK Penguin Random House. Since deciding to become an educator, I’ve also continued editing and writing books, most recently for Collins ELT (English Language Teaching). Having also worked as an instructional designer, I’ve created online course content for Renaissance Learning, Cambridge ELT, EtonX, and Six Red Marbles. As a writer myself, I love working with students to become better, and more enthusiastic, writers. In my free time, I love traveling, going to films and plays, writing, and pursuing my passion for darkwave music (both as a musician and massive geek fan).
